First Derivatives Acquires Reference Data Factory for US$10m

It has certainly been a confusing year for clients and staff at New York-based reference data management solution vendor Reference Data Factory (RDF). Not only were they subjected to a demerger with data management consultancy LakeFront Data Consulting in January, they are now have an entirely new management team from First Derivatives to contend with.

More Ratings Regulations Progress in US with House Financial Services Committee Vote

This week more progress has been achieved in the US with regards to the regulatory crackdown on credit ratings agencies: the House Financial Services Committee has thrown its support behind the bill to increase oversight of this corner of the market. The bill, which was first proposed by Paul Kanjorski, chairman of the House subcommittee on capital markets, goes one step further than the Obama administration’s proposed reforms for the sector by making these agencies collectively liable for inaccuracies in their ratings.

Winterflood Selects Interactive Data PlusFeed for European Traders

London-based market-maker Winterflood Securities has selected Interactive Data Corp.’s PlusFeed for its traders in the U.K. and European equities area. The firm opted for PlusFeed following what it calls a “comprehensive review” of possible sources.

NYSE Euronext Taps SuperFeed to Power Own Web-Site

NYSE Euronext is putting its money where its mouth is with the deployment of its own SuperFeed consolidated data feed infrastructure to power its www.nyse.com web-site. The site, which is also supported by partner OneMarketData’s OneTick historical data service, provides market, fundamental and other information on NYSE Euronext’s own exchanges as well as other U.S. National Market System (NMS) markets.
