London-based market-maker Winterflood Securities has selected Interactive Data Corp.’s PlusFeed for its traders in the U.K. and European equities area. The firm opted for PlusFeed following what it calls a “comprehensive review” of possible sources.

NYSE Euronext Taps SuperFeed to Power Own Web-Site

NYSE Euronext is putting its money where its mouth is with the deployment of its own SuperFeed consolidated data feed infrastructure to power its www.nyse.com web-site. The site, which is also supported by partner OneMarketData’s OneTick historical data service, provides market, fundamental and other information on NYSE Euronext’s own exchanges as well as other U.S. National Market System (NMS) markets.

Fiserv’s Third Quarter Results Down on Last Year, Vendor Focusing on Asset Management Community for Corporate Actions Solution

Fiserv has just released its figures for its third quarter results and it seems revenues are significantly down on last year: total revenue for the period was US$992 million compared with US$1.04 billion in 2008. However, although it has also been a quiet year for the vendor on the corporate actions solution side of the business, things are picking up, Geoff Harries, vice president, product strategy, Investment Services at Fiserv, tells Reference Data Review.

Formicary Adds Focus on Back Office Requirements to Pricing Verification Solution

Technology integration solution vendor Formicary has released the latest version of its price verification solution, RiskSeer, with a view to improving its offering for the back office as well as those users in the front office. The vendor has traditionally pitched its solution at consumers of market data focused on pricing in the front office but regulatory change and market dynamics have meant that pricing data is equally as important to the back office, explains Alexander Millington, director of Formicary’s Trading and Risk Technology Group.

Aim Software’s Sommeregger Talks up CetrelSecurities Partnership

Following the signing of a partnership with Luxembourg-based, application service provider (ASP) specialist CetrelSecurities earlier this year, data management solution vendor Aim Software has acquired its first joint customer in the Luxembourg market. Josef Sommeregger, vice president business development and sales at Aim Software, explains that the joint offering is aimed at netting the vendor more clients in the mid-sized asset management range in the country.

Issuers’ Group Campaigns for Regulators to Reduce their Reliance on Ratings

Ratings agencies are really getting a battering from all sides this month. Not only is the banking sector and the regulators scrutinising their every move, now issuers have added their two pennies’ worth to the debate. This week, issuer association EuropeanIssuers indicated that it believes references to credit ratings should be completely removed from European legislation.
