Thomson Reuters’ Enterprise Division Experiences 4% Increase in Revenue for Second Quarter, Bright Spot in Overall Decline

The fortunes of data giant Thomson Reuters’ Enterprise division seem to be continuing to shine as the vendor’s bright spot for revenue growth this year. Last quarter, the division’s revenue increased 3% on the previous year’s figures for the first quarter (see our coverage here) and, this quarter, the division experienced a 4% revenue growth on the revenues for the second quarter of 2009. However, much like last quarter, the Markets division’s (in which Enterprise sits) overall figures for the quarter are down on the previous year; this time by 3%.

Bats Europe Adds Thomson Reuters Elektron for Pan-European Data

Pan-European multilateral trading facility Bats Europe is live with market data sourced from Thomson Reuters’ new Elektron delivery infrastructure. Bats is the second major MTF to sign up for Elektron-delivered data from the main European equity exchanges and other MTFs, following an earlier decision by rival Chi-X Europe.

Asset Control’s Lynch and Enfield Elaborate on Capital Group Implementation

Phil Lynch Asset Control Earlier this month, investment management firm Capital Group signed up to roll out Asset Control’s AC Plus and AC Connect solutions as its new enterprise data management platform (see here), president and CEO of the vendor Phil Lynch and AC Plus business owner Rick Enfield explain that the firm selected the solution due to its productised approach and the extensibility of its data models. The implementation is all part of the firm’s overhaul of its middle and back office technology platforms, which is taking place over the next couple of years.

Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus Complete Interactive Data Acquisition, Watch This Space for Strategic Restructuring…

Following three months of crossing Ts and dotting Is, private equity firms Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus have finally completed their acquisition of data vendor Interactive Data. As per the terms agreed back in May and within the third quarter deadline that was set (see our coverage here), the vendor’s stock will cease to be traded on NYSE and its stockholders will receive US$33.86 in cash, without interest and minus any applicable withholding taxes, for each share of Interactive Data common stock they own.

Alliance Asset Management Deploys OneTick in Search for Alpha

Sao Paulo, Brazil-based Alliance Asset Management has gone live with a tick data management and complex event processing (CEP) system from OneMarketData. The proprietary trading specialist commenced production use of the OneTick solution a week ago, using it to “generate alpha researching trading ideas that occur at higher frequencies,” says Vinicius D’alesandro, a partner at the firm.

CFTC Calls for Industry Feedback on Data Repositories and Standards for Swaps

As part of its endeavour to improve transparency within the swaps market and in a follow up to the passing of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is asking firms to provide feedback on 30 areas of change including the regulatory proposals related to swap data repositories’ registration standards. The new standards for the submission of reference data sets to the repositories will require firms to alter their data supply chains by adding in additional cross referencing and data quality checking steps.
