Anti-gaming measures are more about building trust and confidence than actually dealing with the threat itself, argued Andrew Bowley, executive director and head of electronic trading product management at Nomura. Controls might help to prevent disruption, he continued, but are required more to attract new clients to a well maintained environment as they are to combat those who game in dark liquidity pools.
