An interesting post from Shay Hassidim, deputy CTO, on the GigaSpaces company blog, detailing performance tests running the company’s XAP application server on an Intel multicore Sun Microsystems X4450 platform. A headline figure of 1.8 million operations per second was achieved. Tests included scalability, throughput and latency, using application scenarios include online transaction processing and credit risk calculations.
