Cloudsoft Corporation, a provider of cloud computing software and services that drive application mobility, today announced the appointment of Shawn Findlan, managing partner and founder of West Avenue Capital, to the company’s strategic Advisory Board. A recognized financial services industry expert, Findlan joins existing board members Linda Bernardi and Rich Miller to help advance Cloudsoft‘s strategy and support the executive team as it continues to capitalize on the growing market demand for cloud computing products and services, particularly within the financial services industry.
Findlan brings more than 20 years of proven, first-hand experience in financial services, emerging technologies and infrastructure and architecture strategy to Cloudsoft. Before founding West Avenue Capital, Findlan was executive director and global head of Strategic Engineering and Architecture at Morgan Stanley. Prior to his role at Morgan Stanley, he served as vice president of Infrastructure and Innovation for Global Credit Trading at J.P. Morgan Chase, as well as infrastructure manager for Global Credit Risk Management and Global Derivatives.
“Cloudsoft offers the innovation, strong industry experience and proven team to help financial services firms move their business to the cloud,” said Shawn Findlan, managing partner and founder of West Avenue Capital. “As the industry looks to the cloud to meet their high-performance computing requirements, Cloudsoft is uniquely positioned to capitalize on that demand and continue their rapid growth.”
Findlan has been recognized with multiple industry awards, including the 2007 American Financial Technology Award for “Best CTO” and 2005 honors for “Best IT Initiative,” and the 2006 Smithsonian-ComputerWorld Honors Laureate for Finance. He brings deep and broad board experience to Cloudsoft, including his current Advisory Board posts with RNA Networks and Vyatta, as well as his Board of Directors position with Evident Software.
“Shawn’s exceptional experience and innovative vision are a perfect fit for our advisory board, which continues to attract the highest quality industry names and is testament to our vision, market position and projected growth,” said Duncan Johnston-Watt, founder and CEO, Cloudsoft. “As enterprise cloud adoption continues to climb throughout 2010 and beyond, Cloudsoft is well positioned to build on the success of Monterey and help companies of all sizes embrace application mobility to drive successful enterprise cloud initiatives.”
