MiFID has Created as Many Questions as Answers

Chris Pickles of BT Global Services MiFID has met mixed reactions from the buy side with market participants noting the positive benefits of non-prescriptive regulation, no degeneration in liquidity and an acceleration in innovation. Negative outcomes of the regulation are cited as a lack of cost reduction, greater complexity in analysis and the failure of Continental Europe to keep pace with the UK in fulfilling MiFID requirements.
