No Time for Complacency for Buy Sides on Edge of MiFID Facing Prospect of Best Execution Next Year

International law firm Eversheds is seeking to raise awareness of the possible implications of MiFID for collective investment scheme (CIS) operators in the UK. These implications will become clearer during 2008, it says, as the FSA considers whether to enforce current proposals that would apply best execution to operators in circumstances where it did not previously apply. Also under consideration are further guidance on transaction reporting, and the extension of the so-called “common platform” to firms that are not currently covered by MiFID.
