The synergy of smart order routing (SOR) and algos is growing closer every day, according to John Prewett, co-chair of the FPL Implementation and optimisation working group and vice president, Lava Technologies, Citi. Predicting an increasingly fragmented market, Prewett said that soon the market will see a closer merging of SOR and algorithms, with either SORs hosting algorithmic trading suites, or algorithms with built in SOR capabilities embedded into the offering.
