Spearhead Bows Proprietary Exchange Data Repository

Spearhead and Partners; the Outsourcing and Market Data Practitioners based in the City of London and independent vendor in the Market Data compliance space; have in the New Year released Exchange Guide Manager (XCG-M), the secure password protected repository for all proprietary, in-house Exchange data.
The dual-database now also has the capability to store any volume of proprietary data that is private to the consumer firm only – but shared in any office globally. Firms are able to create their own confidential guides relating to any Exchange/MTF/Vendor/Index worldwide. This database can be easily customised to the needs of a firm allowing any volume of free text and documents to be published privately and securely in the common XCG format.
The dual database therefore caters to the vast market requirement for the ability to privately store company proprietary data alongside the published Exchange licensing data on a single tab.
This development comes on the back of the success of The Exchange Guide (XCG) - a comprehensive Exchange Licensing database released earlier in mid 2011.
XCG provides an independent, structured solution to the ongoing problem of keeping up-to-date with Exchange/MTF contracts and their ever-changing rules, regulations and pricing terms. Providing a single point of browser access to this global databank; with no software installation required; XCG enables firms to monitor these license agreements at the touch of a button globally.
Exchange data is formatted and normalised in such a way as to enable users to easily search, analyse and compare the terms and conditions from multiple Exchanges. The common format of twenty-seven independently consolidated data fields is replicated for every Exchange/MTF, providing users with a significant advantage over their competitors in terms of quicker, more efficient business decision making capabilities.
A primary advantage of the XCG database is its modern intuitive design, making it incredibly user-friendly and readable. It is maintained and updated on a concurrent basis helping solve the problem firms have of maintaining this data process internally.
“The wealth of current and historic information provided by The Exchange Guide makes it a must when dealing with exchange audits and in‐house compliance management” said Douglas Winton, CEO Spearhead and Partners.
Alongside the storage of historical Exchange rules, XCG also allows firms to export both public/legal and proprietary Exchange data to CSV for reporting/archiving.
Currently the Spearhead distribution channels cover London, New York, San Francisco, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and Zürich. Further distribution channels are being arranged in Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
