Thomson Interview: Eccleston’s Master Plan for Service/Solution Mix

Lou Eccleston is the man brought in by Thomson Financial chief operating officer Sharon Rowlands to transform the company’s $800 million banking and brokerage operating unit into just that: a single operating unit. The original sales director at Bloomberg, Eccleston returned to the business last summer after a brief stint at Siebold. He is now in the midst of turning a group of fiefdoms into a coherent company with a consistent vision; something that’s been attempted by Thomson several times before, each time ending in failure.
