Main Conference Sessions Include:

Business Keynote: Profiting from Low Latency
We all know that brokers, service providers, trading firms and market centres are investing huge sums in a ‘Low Latency Arms Race’. What’s not so well known - perhaps because not many understand it - is how that investment drives the actual business of those participants, and what that ’special ingredient’ is that separates winners from the also-rans.

* Urs Rutschmann, COO, Tbricks

Technology Keynote: Cutting-Edge Technologies for Trading in the Extreme Low-Latency Age
A discussion of the latest technology developments and trends, and how they can be leveraged to build trading systems in the extreme low-latency age, where even nanoseconds matter.

* Spencer Greene, CTO, Financial Services, TIBCO Software.

Deploy Fast, And Build To Last
With algorithms being updated every few weeks, trading firms strive to be first to new market opportunities, and need to adapt their systems to stay ahead in the race. Architectures, platforms, technologies and tools that enable rapid deployment of agile low-latency solutions are becoming a new focus for firms looking to take the strategic view.

* Pete Harris, President, Americas & Editor-at-Large, A-Team Group (Moderator)
* Stuart Grant, EMEA Business Development Manager - Financial Services, Sybase
* Nick Idelson, Technical Director, TraderServe
* Louis Lovas, Director of Solutions, OneMarketData
* Ian Pearl, Global Lead, Capital Markets, Oracle

Low Latency Beyond the Algorithm
While the focus of ultra-low latency has centered on routing market data to algorithmic engines, trading firms are looking to leverage the low-latency lessons learned - using some of the same technologies, and some new ones - to drive latency down in the next set of processes including order routing, order matching, surveillance, risk and compliance, which will reshape trading competitiveness in the coming years.

* Pete Harris, President, Americas & Editor-at-Large, A-Team Group (Moderator)
* Dave Clare, Regional Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Solace Systems
* Johan Dahlström, Vice President, Global Technology Solutions, Nasdaq OMX
* Darren Simons, Business Development Manager, Object Trading
* Simon Townsend, CTO, Redkite Financial Markets

Low Latency Over The Horizon
Join industry experts as they review the final frontiers of latency, and what approaches - existing, emerging and just plain ‘out there’ - might be explored to push the laws of physics.

* Henry Young, Founder and CEO, TS-Associates (Moderator)
* Dave Clare, Regional Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Solace Systems
* Richard Croucher, Chief Architect and Founder, Informatix Solutions
* John Peach, Systems Engineer, Arista Networks
* David Riddoch, Chief Software Architect, Solarflare Communications

Optimising Latency in a Fragmented World
Fragmentation is increasing, and extending beyond equities to new asset classes. How do trading firms construct a low-latency and agile connectivity infrastructure to leverage new opportunities and align it with their business priorities. What part does co-lo, proximity, lit networks and dark fibre play, and how can they be combined?

* Andrew Delaney, President & Editor-in-Chief, A-Team Group (Moderator)
* Hirander Misra, CEO and Co-Founder, ALGO Technologies
* Tony Moulange, Senior Business Development Manager, COLT Technology Services
* Michael Ritter, Vice President Technical Marketing, ADVA Optical Networking
* Parwinder Sekhon, Head of FX Algorithmic Technology, UBS

Out-Racing Regulations
Firms are working to comply with new regulations imposing increased controls on compliance and risk management, all of which work against the drive to lower latencies. How are firms faring, what approaches and technologies are they adopting, and will they meet required deadlines for implementation?

* Andrew Delaney, President & Editor-in-Chief, A-Team Group (Moderator)
* Alan Dean, Co-Chair FIX Protocol EMEA Business Practices Subcommittee, Global Head of Cross Asset FIX Connectivity, HSBC Global Banking and Markets
* Anthony Kirby, Director, Regulatory and Risk Management, Ernst & Young
* Chris Smith, Managing Director, NYSE Euronext
* Benjamin Stephens, Electronic Trading & Quantitative Prime Brokerage Origination, Nomura International

Focused Workshop Sessions Include:

Applying the Focus, Making the Choices for Low Latency Architectures into Existing Trading Environments
In 2011, we find the low latency focus and debate maturing into an advanced discipline which marries the appropriate technology to the trading strategy being adopted. The low latency race is still on, and being at the leading edge is a pre requisite for service levels in many areas from buy side to venue - but how one designs, build, and executes along that continuum is now open to choice, science and opinion.

This Agilysys panel assembles as key cross section of capability and experience which will be rigorously driven by Nigel Woodward to debate the subject in today’s context.

* Nigel Woodward, Industry Consultant (Moderator).
* Peter Hubbard, Solutions Consultant, Dell
* Gordon Hughes, Director, Financial Services Solutions Group, Intel
* Robert Karlsson, VP, Equities Technology, Nomura International
* John Peach, Systems Engineer, Arista Networks
* David Quarrell, Infrastructure Architect, Agilysys
* David Sewell, CTO, Citihub

Latency 101
This workshop will provide an introduction to low latency, and the technology challenges around lowering latency.  It will then provide a structured approach to latency improvement including some of the results obtained.   We will finally review the latest approaches and technologies being deployed to achieve ultra low latency.

We are going to be covering a lot of material in a short time so come prepared. The audience will be encouraged to ask questions to make this an interesting and dynamic session.

* Richard Croucher, Chief Architect and Founder, Informatix Solutions

The Drive to Nanosecond Latency Measurement
The reason for the move to nanosecond-granularity latency measurements is quite simple: as high performance trading drives the infrastructure to deliver ever-lower latencies, there is a resulting need for visibility into that infrastructure at correspondingly shorter timescales. This visibility must be based on timestamps with a precision that is at least an order of magnitude or two finer than the latencies being measured.

The session will however dig beyond this simple summary and explore some of the techniques and architectures that have allowed such systems to achieve the performance levels that they do.

* Fergal Toomey, Chief Scientist, Corvil

Ultra-Low Latency Trading Networks

Electronic trading has accounted for well over 50% of the trades in the US for the last several years. As the amount of electronic trading continues to increase in Europe, firms may be able to gain a significant advantage by exploring the latest connectivity methods utilized between the trading venues in both the US and Europe. At a time when nanoseconds can mean the difference between winning and losing, it is imperative that financial firms understand these new techniques that can save milliseconds.

In this drill-down session, panelists will dig deeper into low latency transport network architectures, and how they have been built to win the latency wars. The moderated panel will include individuals from the US and includes a US low latency service provider, EMEA low latency Service Provider, collocation provider, as well as a technologist to explain it all. For the first time ever in this typically secretive field, real world examples and data will be discussed, along with the enabling technology, in an open forum that is sure to be the hottest topic of discussion for months to come.

* Brian Quigley, Senior Director, Strategic Global Account Development, ADVA Optical Networking (Moderator)
* Michael Ritter, Vice President Technical Marketing, ADVA Optical Networking
* Darren Watkins, Head of Finance Sales for Europe, euNetworks
* Chris Williams, Director of Complex Solutions, Lightower Fiber Networks
