John Bottega has left the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was chief data officer of its Markets Division, to join Bank of America Merrill Lynch in a similar role. Bottega is one of a handful of visible chief data officers, and his arrival at the Fed was hailed as industry recognition of the need for a keeper of an institution’s data assets.
