UK market data vendor Markit has bought out International Index Company (IIC), owner of the iTraxx Asia credit derivatives indices, the iTraxx Europe indices and the global family of iBoxx bond indices. Markit has also agreed a deal to acquire CDS IndexCo, which owns the CDX indexes. Financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

Independent valuation solutions firm Pricing Partners and Misys have agreed to integrate their solutions for derivatives for exclusive promotion by Misys in Asia and the US.
Pricing Partners’ multi-asset pricing engine, Price-it, will be integrated with Misys’ solution for cross-asset derivatives trading and structured products, Misys Summit FT. The integrated solution will take unique deal representations from both solutions and create a single pay-off description for trades. With access to all the Price-it capabilities directly from the Summit solution, firms will be able to manage complex derivatives positions more efficiently by automatically valuing products including inflation, interest rate, equity, credit, commodities and FX derivatives, as well as hybrid products, the vendors say.

Reuters has picked up six new fund administration clients for Reuters DataScope Select in Asia. National Australia Bank Custodian Services (NCS), HSBC, Citigroup, Master Trust Bank of Japan, Bank of China and Industrial Commercial Bank of China have all chosen Reuters to provide the full depth and breadth of its data – including fixed income valuations – in the Asia-Pacific region. Via DataScope Select – launched in Asia in March last year – the banks can access prices on a range of illiquid Asian assets, as well as a cross-asset view of Reuters’ real-time pricing and reference data, via a single source.
