FIM Bank Taps Neonet XG Platform for Nordic Market Access

Finnish bank FIM Bank Ltd. has selected Neonet’s Neonet XG trading platform for access to the rapidly fragmenting Nordic markets. The Nordic marketplace has seen increased interest as liquidity begins to fragment between its multiple primary markets and multilateral trading facilities offered by Nasdaq OMX Europe’s Neuro and Burgundy, and broader alternative markets like Chi-X Europe.

Citi Offers Electronic Executions, Algorithms for Options

The expansion of equity markets electronic trading techniques to the listed derivatives markets is hitting its stride, with Citi this month announcing that it plans to offer buy-side clients access to its options trading platform. The move follows expansion this year into facilitation of client electronic trading of listed derivatives by several big investment banks.

CA Cheuvreux Brings Dark Pool Connections to 20 with 5 New Additions

French brokerage Credit Agricole Cheuvreux has added five new European dark pools to the population of execution venues available to its clients, bringing the total number of dark pools supported by its routing systems. The firm plans to make access available by the end of the month to its direct market access (DMA) clients via its CrossFire dark liquidity seeking algorithm.

LSE’s Baikal Gets FSA Green Light; SOR to Kick Off This Week

As expected, the London Stock Exchange’s Baikal pan-European dark pool and liquidity aggregation service has received regulatory approval from the U.K. Financial Services Authority, and will begin phased rollout this week. Phase 1 of the rollout plan involves the launch of Baikal’s smart order routing capability this week, followed by the non-displayed order book and liquidity aggregation features later in the year.

Quod Pioneers SOR for the Buy Side with V2.0 of Platform

London- and Paris -based execution management system supplier Quod Financial is in pilot phase with a buy-side smart order routing system aimed at helping buy-side firms seek out liquidity on brokers’ internal crossing systems, as well as qualifying independent dark liquidity venues. The company is working on finalizing its business model for the offering, which it plans to offer on a software as a service (SaaS)-type model.

Marketcetera Releases Version 1.5; Points to Interest in Platform, Open Source

Some four months after its Version 1.0 product release, Marketcetera has updated its open source automated trading platform to improve P/L reporting, add functionality to address increasingly fragmented liquidity, enhance multi-user controls and provide support for co-location, while offering statistics that point to significant interest not only in the platform itself, but also to the adoption of open source technologies in general in the financial markets.
