London-based Liquid Capital Markets, a liquidity provider in a range of exchange traded equity and fixed income options, has implemented SunGard’s Kiodex Risk Workbench, a Web-based commodities risk management solution that integrates deal capture, valuation models, risk measurement, financial reporting and independent market data. Used by Liquid Capital’s commodities traders in London and Sydney, Kiodex integrates with the firm’s front- end systems.

An Italian investment firm and established Orc Software customer, Centrosim, is using Orc technology for its single platform-based automated trading and risk management solution. Centrosim is using Orc Trading technology tools, including Orc Trader and via Orc Connect, market connections for the Italian Derivatives Market, Italian Stock Exchange, Securitised Derivatives Exchange and the Mercato Alternativo del Capitale. Plans are also being developed for non-membership market access via Orc Connect to SEB for the major European and North American financial markets, including Euronext.liffe, Eurex and CME-CBOT.

Interdealer broker ICAP has expanded its presence in the Middle East, with a new EBS Prime customer in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait (BBK), based in Bahrain, went live on EBS Prime on March 26. EBS Prime is a facility that enables customer banks to view and trade on the best prices available on the EBS system.

London-based institutional equities house ODL Capital (ODLC) has gone live with FIXCity’s indication of interest (IOI) distribution product, ioinet. ioinet enables ODLC to step up its distribution of liquidity in equities and more rapidly secure orders from buy side firms, according to the vendor.

Emirates NBD, the largest bank in the Gulf Cooperation Council in terms of assets, has selected Calypso software as its cross-asset, front-to-back solution for trading credit, equity, interest rate and FX derivatives as well as FX, money market and fixed income. With the credit markets expanding rapidly in the Middle East, Emirates NBD was seeking a comprehensive cross-asset system with strong derivatives support to meet increasing client demand. After evaluating a number of systems, Emirates NBD selected Calypso Technology not only for the strength of its software platform, but also for its partnership approach, the vendor claims.

Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) has selected Eurobase’s Siena Front Office, Siena Rate Manager and Siena eTrader products to provide a complete multi-asset class electronic trading and order management platform. RMB is the investment banking arm of FirstRand. The Siena eTrading Solution will provide high performance pricing including margin management to end customers and will also enable the bank’s customers and branches to trade directly via a single platform in, initially, forex and money market products.

Italian bank and existing Orc Software customer Banca Aletti has utilised Orc technology to launch two new Certificates for baskets of stocks on the Italian Securitised Derivatives Exchange, SeDeX. The new Certificates (AL7499 and AL8461) make use of Orc’s covariance matrix for derivatives based on baskets of correlated securities.

BankInvest Group, which has $18 billion of assets under management, has selected the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS) to support and integrate portfolio management, asset allocation, trading and compliance operations across its Denmark-based domestic equity and fixed income, and global emerging markets businesses. BankInvest will also benefit from an interface between Charles River IMS and its existing proprietary back office and data warehouse solutions. In addition, BankInvest’s custody business, which offers outsourced compliance services to external funds, will deploy Charles River’s compliance solution.

Morgan Stanley has signed a global software licensing agreement for Trading Technologies’ order entry software, X_Trader, which will be rolled out to customers and internal trading desks at its client listed derivatives business.
Chicago-based TT says Morgan Stanley’s client listed derivatives business will also utilise its hosted ASP service, TTNET, to distribute X_Trader to its customers and internal trading desks globally.
The TT technology will be integrated with Morgan Stanley’s proprietary applications and other third-party systems to provide front-to-back full service for client listed derivatives activities.
