Turquoise Trading Limited, the multilateral trading facility (MTF) established by nine European investment banks, has selected BT for secure hosting services and low latency connectivity, claiming that the MTF it will be able to offer its users fast, direct access to the trading platform and the option to co-locate their trading engines with BT to achieve “near-zero” trading latency. In order to ensure maximum resiliency, Turquoise systems will be hosted in two of BT’s data centres in the London area, with the centres connected by BT’s low latency technology and enabling synchronous data transfer.

Iress Market Technology Canada and TSX Markets are working together to offer an integrated vendor/order routing/exchange gateway access system solution for the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange. As part of the agreement, IRESS’s trading and market data systems and its best market order router will be co-located within TSX Markets’ primary data centre. It is expected that this will offer IRESS’s customers reduced latency and consistently optimal connectivity to the exchanges.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has teamed with Equinix and Digital Realty Trust to deliver low-latency access to its Globex platform, enabling customer firms to connect co-located trading servers directly to the electronic trading infrastructure through high performance, high availability fiber links. Deutsche Bank has completed the consolidation of its global financial messaging to a Global Messaging Architecture (GMA), using SunGard STeP’s Mint middleware solution as the foundation. The GMA program was developed by Deutsche Bank to deliver operational cost savings and to provide standardized global service levels across its range of banking services. The bank has also struck up a deal with BT Radianz to provide its hedge fund clients with low latency access to market data and trade execution services. Deutsche is using the new Radianz Proximity solution, which hosts clients’ algorithmic and program trading applications at Radianz data centres adjacent to market data and execution venues.
