Nasdaq OMX Appoints Charlotte Crosswell as President of Its Pan European Market »

The Nasdaq OMX Group has named Charlotte Crosswell as president of its Nasdaq OMX Pan European Market, a high-volume trading platform that will link multiple trading pools across Europe (MiFID Monitor, March 2008). Crosswell joins Nasdaq OMX Pan European Market from Pension Corporation, a London-based pension management firm, where she has been a partner and head of business development. In her new role Crosswell will be based in London and be responsible for the operations and strategic development of the Pan European Market.

Instinet has appointed Richard Balarkas, who joined its subsidiary Instinet Europe Limited (IEL) in December 2007 (MiFID Monitor, December 2007), as president and CEO. Balarkas joins COO Clive Triance – who joined Instinet in October 2007 from Citigroup – and CFO Stephen Corker – who joined Instinet in January from Tullett Prebon – to form the new IEL senior management team.

Prior to joining StreamBase, Palmer worked for Progress Software, where he led that company’s acquisition of CEP software vendor Apama and then led the Apama business unit as general manager.

Sibbern will return to the exchange after 18 months as president at E*Trade Bank A/S where he was responsible for operations in Denmark and Norway.

Atrium Network, provider of connectivity solutions for the financial community, says Ian Keal has joined the firm as technical project manager from his position as senior technical solutions consultant at BT Radianz. Keal’s responsibilities at Atrium Network will be to provide pre-sales support to the sales force in Europe and North America.
