Activ Launches in Europe; Hires Hann to Head EMEA Region

Activ Financial has launched its European operations with a new facility in Equinix’s London-Slough LD4 datacentre, and the hiring of David Hann as managing director for the EMEA region. Activ will allow customers to co-locate within the facility for fast trading access and distribution. In addition to North American and Asian market data, the company will initially support European equities, derivatives, fixed income and news data from Deutsche Boerse, London Stock Exchange, Nasdaq OMX and NYSE Euronext.

SpryWare Taps Morgan Roberts for West Coast Sales

Chicago-based low-latency ticker plant and market data provider SpryWare has appointed Morgan Roberts as west coast sales manager. Morgan has some 20 years of experience selling trading technology and enterprise data solutions to both sell-side and buy-side firms, with Roberts-Slade, Neovest, JP Morgan and Townsend Analytics.

O’Sullivan Joins NYSE Technologies to Head Data Fabric Business

Feargal O’Sullivan has joined NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology and services unit of NYSE Euronext, as managing director of high performance messaging, based in New York City. O’Sullivan reports to Tony McManus, Belfast-based head of the Trading Solutions business segment, and will focus on managing and growing the business for the vendor’s Data Fabric product. O’Sullivan joins from Tervela, where he was major accounts manager. Previously, he held sales positions at Reuters and Tibco.

In something of a coup, latency measurement specialist Correlix has named Trading Metrics co-founder Richard Huddleston as senior solutions architect, based in the company’s New York office.

TS-A Hires Adam Woolhouse as Head of Sales

TS-Associates, developer of the TipOff low latency monitoring tool, has appointed Adam Woolhouse as head of sales. Prior to joining to TS-A Adam held senior technical sales positions, most recently with Endace, provider of network packet capture probes.

Kx Systems Opens Asian Office in Hong Kong, Appoints Burke to Head

Kx Systems, a provider of high performance database and time series analysis solutions, has opened an Asian office in Hong Kong, which the vendor says will be headed by Chris Burke. The vendor is looking to ramp up its offering in the region, following its partnership agreement with Australian BPM vendor Hologram signed in July last year.
