AboveNet says it’s sold half the capacity of its new low-latency transatlantic connectivity service since it launched two weeks ago. The dark fibre provider says it now plans to establish a second 10Gigabit ethernet pipe linking London and New York, and expects to add a third within the coming year.

















Cable & Wireless Worldwide has responded to market demand for high-speed exchange connectivity with a new configuration of its International Ethernet Private Line (IEPL) network. The company reckons the newly configured network will meet the needs of high-performance traders by delivering high speed – up to 1Gb per second – as well as predictable and secure ethernet connections.
Options IT, which offers Infrastructure-as-a-Service for buy-side and sell-side firms, has added market data provided by Exegy’s low-latency ticker plant to its offering, the Options PIPE platform. That platform provides managed server and storage capacity, and network and connectivity facilities, to market participants looking to host their high frequency and algorithmic trading applications.
