Interactive Data Corporation has named Jay S Kilberg managing director of its Real-Time Services business. Kilberg joins Interactive Data from McGraw-Hill, where he was vice president and general manager for the Platts Research & Analytics business.

SuperDerivatives has appointed Chris Zingo, formerly senior managing director for Thomson Financial’s Corporate Services Group in North America where he was responsible for sales and services for Thomson’s corporate customers, as vice president sales and support for the Americas.

Caplin Systems has hired Scott McLeod as director of sales. Reporting to Adam Hawley, commercial director, McLeod will be responsible for Caplin’s global sales and marketing activities. He commenced his new role on February 18, 2008 in London. McLeod has previously worked at Reuters, Instinet Fixed Income, Quotron and, most recently, Ion Trading.

FinAnalytica, provider of “post-modern” portfolio construction and risk management analytics, has opened a London Office and appointed Marc Gross to the newly created role of managing director for European sales and business development. Gross joins FinAnalytica from Riskdata where he spent three years as regional director.

David Lister, currently chief information officer (CIO) at Reuters, is joining Royal Bank of Scotland as chief architect. ReferenceDataReview.com understands that Lister will be charged with consolidating and streamlining the group’s back office technology operations in order to cut costs.

Markit, provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing, has appointed Shane Akeroyd executive vice president and co-head of global sales and marketing. Akeroyd, previously at RBC Capital Markets, where he as head of global debt markets distribution, will share responsibility for Markit’s global sales and marketing division with Mike Rushmore, executive vice president.

StreamBase Systems, provider of complex event processing (CEP) software, has expanded its sales team with the addition of Mark Bannon as vice president of Americas sales and Paul Grossman as vice president of EMEA sales. Bannon most recently served as vice-president of worldwide sales for Phonetic Systems, a provider of voice-enabled search solutions to the Fortune 500 and telco markets. Grossman joins StreamBase from early-stage compliance vendor Cryoserver where he was sales director.

Progress Software has appointed Scott Grayson managing director, global sales for Apama Capital Markets products. Previously, Grayson was managing director and head of North American sales for Algorithmics.

Tervela, developer of high-performance messaging systems, has named Robert Ciampa as its new vice president of marketing and Stephen Johnson as its chief financial officer.

Knobias, provider of financial information solutions, has appointed Steven Reilly to the position of executive vice president, sales and marketing. Reilly comes to Knobias from Cantor Market Data (a division of Cantor Fitzgerald), where he led the Americas Region direct sales group. Prior to Cantor, he was senior vice president and regional sales director for Thomson Financial Corporation, where he was employed for 13 years. Reilly will be responsible for all the sales and marketing efforts of the firm.

Blue Systems, London-based provider of global financial information software, has appointed the CEO of Roshan Telecom, Karim Khoja, to the Blue Systems advisory board. Khoja will advise Blue Systems on accelerating the take-up of its mobile market data product, blue mobile (Market Data Insight, November 2007), worldwide.

Ken Michelini has recently joined Citihub as an associate partner. He will be responsible for expanding its US-based offerings, with particular focus on market data technologies, reporting to US partner Keith Maitland. Michelini recently left Thomson Financial where he was vice president responsible for low latency product operations.

Asset Control, provider of financial data management solutions, has appointed John Mitchell as North American sales director based in New York. In his new role Mitchell will be responsible for generating new business and expanding Asset Control’s regional presence for its centralised reference and financial data management solution for financial institutions. Prior to Asset Control, Mitchell was vice president of sales at Fortent, provider of risk and compliance solutions for financial institutions.

Danny Moore stepped up to become CEO of Wombat Financial Software on January 1, succeeding Wombat founder Ron Verstappen, who remains chairman and will leave the company once its acquisition by NYSE Euronext closes, probably in the second quarter. Moore was previously COO of Wombat, which he joined in 2004 from Kx Systems.

SuperDerivatives has appointed Russel Levi senior vice president of global sales and support. Levi joins SuperDerivatives after serving more than 19 years with Bloomberg. Most recently at Bloomberg, Levi was head of electronic trading, front office systems and messaging.

SpryWare, provider of standardised low latency market data technology, is expanding its New York presence. SpryWare is already working with several clients in the region, it says, and the New York office will serve as the firm’s base for business development and support for the East coast. SpryWare is also bringing on board David Kaszovitz, most recently a member of the senior account sales team at Track Data Corporation.

Martin Cole has joined Telekurs UK as managing director, taking a position that has been unfilled since early last year. Cole comes from legal entity data specialist CounterpartyLink, where he was head of sales and marketing. His past career includes a stint as managing director, UK and Ireland, at D&B, and roles in sales and marketing at Reuters.

29West has appointed Tim Mund to head up its sales efforts worldwide. Prior to joining 29West, Mund worked at Verizon and managed projects with Nasdaq and NASD from 2000 until 2006. In mid-2006, Mund made a move to Solace Systems.
