FactSet Research Systems, a provider of integrated financial information and analytical applications to the global investment community, has indicated that it is on the hunt for other third party vendor partners to extend its content coverage. The vendor is also contemplating joining the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council in the near future to help promote the industry-wide adoption of an international business entity identifier (IBEI), says Ken Zolk, FactSet’s director of content development.

Following the departure of Markus Heer, Deutsche Börse has appointed Stefan Sachsenweger as head of back office. Heer, who has worked for Deutsche Börse for the last four years, will now join German financial information service provider WM Datenservice as managing director. Prior to his appointment as head of back office, Sachsenweger worked in the product design front office data and analytics division of Deutsche Börse.

Master data management platform provider Siperian has promoted Anurag Wadehra to senior vice president of marketing and product management and Sean Ward to senior vice president, worldwide sales and alliances. Wadehra will be in charge of all strategic product management and corporate marketing activities. Prior to Siperian, he was vice president of marketing for Intersperse, an application infrastructure management start-up. He has also held senior product marketing positions at i2 Technologies, Kraft Foods and Procter and Gamble. Ward joined Siperian as vice president of worldwide sales in June last year.

Data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing vendor Markit has appointed ex-Deutsche Bank credit products specialist Marcus Schüler as managing director of sales and marketing. Schüler will be based in London and will be responsible for Markit’s relationships with regulators, central banks, trade associations and accounting firms, across the vendor’s complete range of products and services, as well as geographic regions. He will report to Shane Akeroyd and Mike Rushmore, global co-heads of sales and marketing.

After a year of waiting, Swift has finally announced its successor to Jim Donovan as global head of securities: ex-Radianz managing director Chris Church. As well as leading the securities division, Church will also head the Americas region and be a member of the leadership council. Church will report to Swift CEO Lázaro Campos and has taken on responsibility for the securities steering committee of the board.

Markit has appointed Charles Longden as managing director in fixed income and credit. Longden joins Markit from ABN AMRO where he worked for 12 years, most recently as global head of credit trading and eco-markets. In his new role Longden will focus on expanding the firm’s fixed income and credit businesses. He will also develop new products and services designed to bring greater transparency and liquidity to the fast growing carbon markets.

Stuart Clark has announced his plan to retire next year after 14 years at the helm of data services vendor Interactive Data. Clark has worked for the vendor or one of its predecessor companies for over 40 years. The nominating and corporate governance committee of the board will identify and screen potential successors over the next year. Clark’s current role as president and chief executive officer will remain unchanged through the succession process.

The EDM Council has released a report concerning its plans for a new online semantic repository, which will identify all data attribute terms and definitions used by financial institutions for business processing, investment decisions, scenario modelling, risk management and portfolio valuation.
