The A-Team Group Liquidity Risk Management Directory is a new and first of its kind publication, focusing on the providers of solutions in the complex and demanding area of liquidity risk management. As financial institutions face extensive new requirements in the management of liquidity risk, the directory is intended to provide indispensable assistance in the assessment and selection of solution providers.

In the wake of the global credit crisis, liquidity risk has moved high on the agenda of financial institutions and regulators. Solutions providers are responding with new and enhanced products and services to meet the needs of all sectors of the financial services industry. We will be updating the directory on a regular basis as global liquidity risk management requirements are defined and as vendors bring new solutions to the table.

A key feature of the directory is the A-Team “Ask the Experts” section, providing a platform for solutions providers to address critical issues in the management of liquidity risk. Leading providers have contributed thought-provoking commentaries on the scope and complexity inherent in liquidity risk management solutions in today’s financial services industry.

The Who, What, When and Why of the Alternative Liquidity Venues

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the A-Team Alternative Trading Systems Directory. As with our sister publication – the A-Team Algorithmic Trading Directory – we have set out to describe and define a specific segment of the electronic trading marketplace, in the hopes of helping practitioners navigate the increasingly complex world of alternative liquidity venues.

Since we conceived the idea of a directory of alternative trading systems – that is, of electronic trading platforms that offer alternative liquidity venues from the world’s primary exchanges – the execution venue landscape has expanded significantly. This has been particularly true in Europe, where the EU’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) has spawned a host of Multilateral Trading Facilities (MTFs) and encouraged the proliferation of both independent and broker-sponsored dark liquidity venues, or dark pools. In short, the ATS landscape has become more complex and confusing than ever.

The A-Team Algorithmic Trading Directory - 2009 Edition is now available for download–with updated information and more profiles. The Algorithmic Trading Directory is the industry’s only reference for professionals active in the algorithmic and electronic trading community. The directory provides an easy-to-use guide to help buy-side professionals understand the algorithms on offer from their brokers and other trading counterparties and suppliers, where to find them, and who to talk with about them.

The Algorithmic Trading Directory lists algorithmic trading services offered by brokers, investment banks, and other sell-side financial institutions to their buy-side customers, in the form of detailed profiles of the firms’ electronic trading service offerings. Each profile features descriptive information on the proprietary algorithms on offer, including analysis of who should be using them, under what market conditions and to what end.

The Directory also includes a guide to the various forms of generic algorithms used and offered by major sell-side players, definitions of key terms, and abstracts of relevant articles with A-Team analysis.

A-Team Group’s latest release in its series of directories – available for FREE download – focuses on vendors of valuations data, models and analytics.
