Kinetic Partners has added a new face to its team, ex-RBS Portfolio Risk Services MD Christian Szylar, to lead the vendor’s efforts in the risk modelling and valuations space. The vendor has been stepping up its approach to the market by touting its modular approach to risk management as a more practical way to meet new regulatory requirements, such as those under UCITS IV, and is hopeful that Szylar will boost its chances of success.

In a move designed to boost its real-time analytics offerings and allow it to offer turnkey solutions, such as for liquidity risk management, Sybase has acquired the assets of complex event processing (CEP) specialist Aleri, including all of its products. It has also retained key staff in the sales, engineering and marketing areas. The acquisition marks the continuing evolution of the CEP space, as it transforms from a one-time start-up culture to one where enterprise IT heavyweights increasingly compete.
Sydney-based risk management technology and consulting solution vendor Razor Risk Technologies has added a new face to its Australian team in the form of ex-Westpac risk exec John Goodacre, who joins as programme director. The vendor has also promoted current senior risk consultant for the Americas region, Franklin Robinson, to the position of unit president for the region.

The aim of the endeavour would be to improve the regulatory community’s ability to measure and stress test systemic risk, thus providing an early warning signal before a market crisis strikes.
